Spotlight on Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (February 22-28, 2023)

This past week Palestinians carried out seven terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria, killing three Israeli civilians: Fourteen Israelis have been killed since the beginning of the year. Following the shooting attack in Hawwara, Israeli settlers entered the town and burned Palestinian houses, public property and vehicles. The heightened tension resulted in an increase in the number of rocks and Molotov cocktails thrown at Israeli vehicles. Six rockets were launched at Israel from the Gaza Strip. Five were intercepted by Iron Dome aerial defense system and one fell in an open area. A political-security summit meeting was held by representatives from Egypt, Jordan, the United States, Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) in an effort to calm the situation.

Spotlight on Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (February 14-21, 2023)

This past week Palestinians carried out five terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria. Two of the attacking Palestinians were aged 13 and 14. The Israeli security forces continued counterterrorism activities, detaining dozens of wanted terrorists. The PA security services detained two terrorist operatives in Nablus. The Gaza Strip remained relatively quiet. A number of demonstrations were held along the border. The Palestinians continue their political campaign against Israel.

Spotlight on Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (February 8-13, 2023)

This past week Palestinians carried out two terrorist attacks. A vehicular ramming attack in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem, which killed three Israeli civilians, two of them young brothers; the other was a stabbing attack south of Hebron. As usual, the Palestinian Authority (PA) did not condemn the. One rocket fired from the Gaza Strip at the Israeli communities. In response, Israeli Air Force aircraft attacked a Hamas facility. A Hamas delegation headed by Isma'il Haniyehrecently visited Cairo to participate in Egyptian efforts to achieve regional calm. PIJ leader Ziyad al-Nakhalah was chosen to head the organization for another four years. The Palestinian leadership continued activities in Arab and international venues to delegitimize the Israeli government.

Spotlight on Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (February 1-7, 2023)

This past week Palestinian terrorists carried out three attacks in Judea and Samaria two IDF soldiers injured. Israeli security forces continued counterterrorism activity, concentrating their efforts in the Aqabat Jabr refugee camp near Jericho. During the two-day activity five Hamas terrorist operatives were killed; two of them had been involved in the shooting attack at the Almog Junction (January 28, 2023). 11 rockets were fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip. The Palestinians claimed they were a reaction to the measures taken by the Israeli prison service against women prisoners in Israeli jails who celebrated when seven Israelis were killed in Neve Yaakov in Jerusalem.

Spotlight on Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (January 25-31, 2023)

This past week there was a sharp rise in the number of terrorist attacks and casualties, as well as in the number of rocks, Molotov cocktails and bottles of paint thrown at Israeli vehicles driving on the roads in Judea and Samaria. Six terrorist attacks were carried out, killing seven civilians and wounding five. Ten Palestinians were killed in Israeli security force counterterrorism activities in the Jenin refugee camp. Most of them were Palestinian terrorist operatives. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in the Gaza Strip fired five rockets at Israel to avenge the Israeli activity in Jenin.

This past week Palestinians carried out two terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria; no Israeli casualties were reported. One was a stabbing the other was a shooting attack Two attempted stabbing attacks were prevented by Israeli security forces. Two Palestinians were killed in clashes with Israeli security forces in the Jenin refugee camp. The Gaza Strip remained relatively quiet. experimental rockets were fired towards the sea. Members of the Palestinian Authority (PA) leadership continue their diplomatic "struggle" against the new Israeli government.
