News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (July 3 – 9, 2019)

On Friday, July 5, 2019, the return march was held. About 7,000 Palestinians participated (similar to last week). The level of violence was relatively low. This past week there was a significant reduction in the number of incendiary and IED balloons launched into Israel. While constructing the underground barrier along the Gaza Strip border, a tunnel penetrating into Israeli territory was exposed in the southern Gaza Strip. It was the 18th tunnel exposed by the Israeli security forces. In Judea and Samaria, terrorist attacks focused on a vehicular attack north of Jerusalem targeting IDF soldiers.

Spotlight on Global Jihad (June 27 – July 3, 2019)

The Syrian ground offensive against the rebel organizations in the Idlib area, which has been going on for around two months, is still not making any progress. In the Iraqi arena ISIS’s intensive attacks in the various provinces in the north and west of the country continue. In ISIS’s various provinces in the Middle East and around the globe, “routine” activity continues. News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (June 19 –25, 2019)

The Friday, June 28, 2019, return march in the Gaza Strip was attended by about 7,000 Palestinians This past week the number of incendiary and IED balloons launched into Israeli territory was particularly high (setting more than 100 fires). On June 27, 2019, Hamas confirmed that understandings with Israel had been renewed through Egyptian and UN mediation (Israel had no official comment). Riots were held in Issawiya in east Jerusalem, during which a rioter who shot fireworks at Israeli security forces was shot and killed.

Spotlight on Iran (June 16 -30, 2019)

Iranian media highlighted the statements made by the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Nikolai Patrushev, during the summit of national security advisers in Jerusalem. According to Patrushev Iran supports the war on terror in Syria and was and remains Russia’s ally. Against the backdrop of escalating tensions between Iran and the United States several attacks were carried out against U.S. interests in Iraq. Last week, the Iraqi deputy chief of staff for training and operations visited Tehran and met with senior Iranian military officials. In mid-June a senior delegation of Hamas leaders met the Iranian minister of intelligence at the Iranian embassy in Beirut.

The Syrian army’s ground offensive against the rebel organizations, which has been going on for nearly two months, is still bogged down. The Iraqi arena: ISIS’s main event was a suicide bombing attack in a Shiite mosque in east Baghdad (10 killed and 30 wounded). In ISIS’s various provinces in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, routine activity continues. ISIS recently released videos filmed by its operatives in the various provinces. News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (June 19 –25, 2019)

On Friday, June 21, 2019, the weekly return march was held along the Israel-Gaza Strip border. About 6,000 Palestinians participated, slightly more than in recent weeks. Even after the fishing zone off the Gaza Strip coast was increased and funds from Qatar entered the Gaza Strip, arson terrorism continues and its scope has increased. Demonstrations were held in several cities in Judea and Samaria to protest the economic workshop in Bahrain.
