Iran is attempting to downplay the involvement of the Qods Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the Golan Heights on the night of May 10. Instead, Iran is presenting the events as a direct confrontation between Israel and Syria. Against the backdrop of growing tensions between Iran and Israel, senior Iranian officials continue to threaten Israel. News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (May 2-8, 2018)

This week as well, the violent incidents initiated by the Palestinians, mainly Hamas, continued along the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel. The organizers of the marches are preparing for this Friday’s events (May 11, 2018), and at the same time are preparing for the climax of the events in mid-May: May 14 (the transfer of the US Embassy to Jerusalem) and May 15 (Nakba Day).

Spotlight on Global Jihad (April 26 – May 2, 2018)

This week, the Syrian army recorded achievements in its campaign to take over the southern suburbs of Damascus from ISIS. The Syrian army forces advanced inside the Yarmouk refugee camp and took control of most of the Al-Qadam neighborhood to its west. The operatives of the Headquarters for the Liberation of Al-Sham, a jihadi organization and one of ISIS’s rivals, began to leave the Yarmouk refugee camp for the Idlib region after reaching an evacuation agreement with the Syrian regime.

News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (April 25 – May 1, 2018)

The riots that took place on Friday, April 27, 2018, as part of the “Great Return March” were the most violent since the beginning of the events. During the riots, there were violent provocations. These events were organized and conducted by Hamas, which controls the events.

Spotlight on Iran (April 15- April 29, 2018)

Iranian officials continue to react to the alleged Israeli strike on the Syrian air force base T-4: the deputy commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) warned Israel that if it initiates a war against Iran, this will lead to its eradication. Iran condemned the strikes carried out on April 14, 2018 by the United States, the United Kingdom and France in Syria in response to the Assad regime’s chemical attack on Douma. The coordination efforts between Iran, Turkey and Russia continue against the backdrop of recent events in Syria: The Iranian president held a phone call with his Turkish counterpart, while the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, visited Russia to attend an international security conference. At the center of development in Iran-Iraq relations was the visit of Iranian Minister of Defense, Amir Hatami, to Baghdad.
