During Operation Protective Edge UNRWA announced in a press release that on July 16, 2014, 20 rockets were discovered hidden in a vacant school in the Gaza Strip (the name and location of the school were not mentioned).

Operation Protective Edge – Update No. 7 (As of 1200 hours, July 17, 2014)

On July 16, 2014, the UN asked for a “humanitarian pause (in the fighting)” to allow the Gazan population to purchase necessities and repair the infrastructure. Israel and Hamas agreed.
