This past week no significant terrorist attacks were carried out in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip. The focus of political events was Hamas' announcement that it was prepared to dissolve the administrative committee it established in the Gaza Strip to replace the Palestinian Authority (PA). In ITIC assessment, the difficult economic situation in the Gaza Strip and the economic sanctions Mahmoud Abbas imposed on the Gaza Strip were behind the Hamas announcement.

News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (6-12 September 2017)

This week there were no significant attacks in Judea and Samaria, however in three different incidents Palestinians were arrested at the security checkpoints near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron after they were found to be carrying knives. A large delegation of senior Hamas officials exited the Gaza Strip bound for Egypt. With the upcoming convening of the United Nations’ General Assembly session in New York (19 September 2017), the Palestinians are planning to file twenty resolutions.

News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (August 30 – 5 September 2017)

This week there were no significant attacks in Judea and Samaria. The economic hardship and the electricity crisis in the Gaza Strip continue. Sharp condemnation from the Palestinians of a directive which was signed, under instruction from Ministry of Defense Avigdor Lieberman, for setting up a municipal services administration for the Jewish community in Hebron.

This week there were no significant attacks in Judea and Samaria and no rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip. Abu Mazen met in Ramallah with an American delegation headed by Jared Kushner, advisor to the President of the United States.

European countries freeze donations to anti-Israel women’s organization after learning it supported the establishment of a women’s center named after Palestinian terrorist Dalal al-Mughrabi

On August 21, 2017, the governments of Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands announced they would immediately stop their joint funding of the Women's Affairs Technical Committee (WATC). In addition, according to the announcement, they would initiate an investigation to discover how the funds they had contributed were used.

News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (August 16 – 22, 2017)

This past week there was a stabbing attack at the Tapuah Junction in Samaria. An ISIS-affiliated jihadist operative from the Gaza Strip blew himself up at a Hamas check post en route to the Sinai Peninsula. Yahya al-Sinwar, head of Hamas' political bureau in the Gaza Strip, held a closed meeting with political commentators and analysts.
