Judea and Samaria: On the night of August 15, 2021, four Palestinians were killed during an exchange of fire with Israeli security forces in Jenin after a Palestinian wanted for terrorist activities was detained. The Gaza Strip: On August 16, 2021, a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip at the southern Israeli city of Sderot. The Palestinian Authority (PA): Israel has begun work to improve the accessibility of the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron for the physically challenged by installing an elevator. The coronavirus: There has been an increase in the number of active cases of the coronavirus, especially the delta variant, in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip. So far, no preventive measures have been taken.

Program on Israeli TV Channel i24 Based on an ITIC Study of the Palestinians Killed in Operation Guardian of the Walls

On August 1, 2021, channel i24 broadcast a program about the distribution of Palestinian fatalities in Operation Guardian of the Walls and the number found to be terrorist operatives. The program was based on a study carried out by the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (ITIC) and published on its website.

Judea and Samaria: On August 9, 2021, IDF forces prevented a stabbing attack south of Nablus. The Gaza Strip: On August 6, 2021, four fires broke out in the western Negev near the Gaza Strip, caused by incendiary balloons. In response the IDF attacked Hamas terrorist targets in Gaza. The Palestinian Authority (PA): The PA's economic crisis worsens as the government is forced to borrow funds from banks to pay the salaries of its employees. However, the PA remains scrupulous in paying the families of prisoners and shaheeds by circumventing local banks, which refuse to transfer the funds.

News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (July 28-August 3, 2021)

Judea and Samaria: This past week Palestinians clashed with the Israeli security forces at a number of locations in Judea and Samaria. Israel announced a series of measures to ease daily life for the Palestinians in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip: Attempts continue to conclude an arrangement with Israel and to rebuild the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Authority (PA): The PA is facing a financial crisis, to the point where it cannot promise to be able to pay its employees' salaries in the coming months. Sheikh Jarrah: The Palestinian families living in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of east Jerusalem rejected a compromise offered by Israel's Supreme Court. Deliberations will continue next week.

Judea and Samaria: This past week Palestinians clashed with Israeli security forces in the Bayta and Nabi Saleh regions. One Palestinian was killed and several were wounded. The Gaza Strip: On July 25, 2021, the Gazan incendiary balloon-launching units renewed their activities, causing three fires in the Israeli communities near the Gaza Strip. UN international commission of inquiry: On July 22, 2021, the UN Human Rights Council announced the formation of the international commission of inquiry, established "to investigate violations of international humanitarian law and all alleged violations and abuses of international human rights law leading up to and since 13 April 2021, and all underlying root causes of recurrent tensions.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) found a creative way to continue transferring monthly payments to Palestinian terrorist prisoners, the wounded and the families of shaheeds

On July 6, 2021, a ceremony was held in the headquarters of the PA post office bank in Ramallah, attended by the Palestinian minister of communications, inaugurating a new method that will enable the PA to make its monthly payments to Palestinian terrorist prisoners, the wounded and the families of shaheeds. Payments will now be made through ATMs which will be distributed to post office branches in Judea and Samaria.
