Iran in the Post-Islamic State Era: Aims, Opportunities and Challenges

The “Islamic State” in Iraq and Syria is undergoing a process of disintegration and ISIS will return to its “natural state” of a jihadist terror organization, not a “state” with territorial borders. The defeats experienced by ISIS in Iraq and Syria, central among them the loss of Mosul, the battle in Raqqa and the advances of Syrian forces in Deir Ezzor, create new opportunities for Iran to increase its influence in Syria, Iraq and the entire Middle East.

European countries freeze donations to anti-Israel women’s organization after learning it supported the establishment of a women’s center named after Palestinian terrorist Dalal al-Mughrabi

On August 21, 2017, the governments of Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands announced they would immediately stop their joint funding of the Women's Affairs Technical Committee (WATC). In addition, according to the announcement, they would initiate an investigation to discover how the funds they had contributed were used.

Vehicular Attacks in Spain: The Current Situation (Updated to noon, August 20, 2017)

On August 17 and 18, 2017, two vehicular attacks were carried out in Spain: A vehicular attack on Las Ramblas Boulevard in Barcelona, crowded with tourists. A vehicular attack in the vacation town of Cambrils, southwest of Barcelona. It was carried out by five terrorists driving a van.

ISIS Call to Attack Foreign Embassies and Diplomats of the “Infidel Countries”

ISIS's weekly newsletter al-Nabā' published an editorial about the lessons to be learned from the attack on the Iraqi embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan (July 30, 2017), which it called "an action of high quality." According to the editorial, attacking embassies and diplomatic staff is one of the cheapest and most effective ways to exert pressure on "infidel governments."

Hamas Summer Camps Continue Training the Younger Gazan Generation for the Armed Struggle against Israel

This year, as in previous years, summer camps were held throughout the Gaza Strip, attended by tens of thousands of Gazan children and adolescents. Most of the camps were organized by Hamas, some by other terrorist organizations and institutions.
