Ahed Tamimi: Serial provocateur since childhood in the village of Nabi Saleh

On December 15, 2017, Palestinians in the village of Nabi Saleh (northwest of Ramallah) held their "weekly riot." During the riot local Palestinians documented two girls aggressively taunting and provoking IDF soldiers. In the video one of the girls is seen kicking and punching two soldiers. The soldiers exercised restraint and did not respond to the provocation.

ISIS-Inspired Immigrant from Bangladesh Detonates IED in the Heart of New York City

At around 7:10 on the morning of December 11, 2017, an IED was detonated in the subway corridor connecting the Port Authority Bus Terminal to the Times Square subway station. The homemade pipe bomb exploded while strapped onto the terrorist's body. He was seriously wounded; three passersby sustained minor injuries. The terrorist was arrested.

Drive for Bitcoin donations on an ISIS-affiliated website

In November 2017 a drive was launched on the ISIS-affiliated website Akhbar al-Muslimin for donations of Bitcoins (for information about the website see below). The website has posted a link for Bitcoin donations. The donations are allegedly for the website, but in ITIC assessment they may be used for ISIS broader goals, one of which is rehabilitating its propaganda machine (which was recently damaged) and possibly also for funding terrorist attacks abroad.

Popular Terrorism: The Current Situation

On October 26, 2017, about two years after the outbreak of the wave of popular terrorism (early October, 2015), there was a shooting attack in the community of Har Adar (northwest of Jerusalem). It was a terrorist attack carried out as part of the strategy the Palestinians call "popular resistance."

Spotlight on Global Jihad (September 28 – October 2, 2017)

This week as well, the events in Syria centered around the areas of Idlib and Deir ez-Zor: A noteworthy event at the propaganda level is an audiotape released by ISIS and attributed to its leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The calls by Al-Baghdadi and ISIS’s propaganda machine to intensify the attacks abroad are apparently being heeded.
