Hezbollah maintains an extensive network of social foundations in the Shiite community in Lebanon. These foundations deal with healthcare, education, finance, welfare, and communications. They serve as supportive foundations for Hezbollah’s military infrastructure, as well as a means of disseminating Hezbollah’s ideology and strengthening its position among the Shiite community and in Lebanon in general.

Spotlight on Iran (June 2 -16, 2019)

On June 13, two oil tankers were attacked in the Gulf of Oman. Iran rejected the accusations and blamed foreign actors for the attack, which was carried out during a visit of the Japanese prime minister to Tehran. The deputy commander of the IRGC called Iranian presence in Syria “the realization of a divide duty”. During a visit to the Khuzestan Province in southwestern Iran, the senior military adviser of the Supreme Leader of Iran called to connect Iran, Iraq and Syria. During the Quds Day speeches in the Gaza Strip, senior Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad Officials thanked Iran for its support for the Palestinians

During the annual Iranian-sponsored Global Jerusalem Day events, prominent were threats made against Israel and the United States, and calls to undermine the “deal of the century.”

Every year, Global Jerusalem Day events are held in Iran, the Arab states and the West. This year, in Iran hundreds of thousands of people participated in the events, which were also attended by senior figures in the Iranian regime. In the Arab world prominent events were held in Lebanon, the Gaza Strip and Yemen. In South East Asia events were held in India and Pakistan, and in the West in Germany, Britain, Austria and Canada.

Spotlight on Iran (May 19, 2019 – June 2, 2019)

On May 31, Iranian cities witnessed rallies on the occasion of International Quds Day, a day marked since the Islamic Revolution (1979) on the last Friday of the month of Ramadan. Iran Calls to Turn the Events of “International Quds Day” on May 31, 2019, into a Show of Defiance Against President Trump’s “Deal of the Century”

The “International Quds [Jerusalem] Day,” is held each year since 1979 on the last Friday in the month of Ramadan, following a ruling of the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ruhollah Khomeini. The event is intended to express the support for the Palestinian cause by Iran and the Muslim world and the “liberation of Palestine,” as well as to besmirch Israel, call of its eradication and defy the United States, the West and their Arab regional allies.

Spotlight on Iran (May 5- 19, 2019)

Iran recently began implementing a more aggressive policy against the United States and Iran’s regional rivals. A combative policy in Gaza of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Organization, Iran’s preferred proxy, which recently orchestrated an escalatory round in the Gaza Strip, the worse since the 2014 conflict. In the latest escalation in Gaza, Iran’s involvement could also be detected, through the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
