Hezbollah operative captured during the ongoing confrontation admitted to participating in the abduction of the two IDF soldiers and in a previous abduction attempt of IDF soldiers in the village of Ghajar. The operative told his interrogators that he had undergone training in Iran, where he was sent along with other 40-50 Hezbollah operatives.

Thirty-one wounded in another Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) suicide bombing attack at fast-food restaurant in Tel Aviv

The PIJ is a terrorist organization encouraged and sponsored by Iran and Syria, specializing in suicide bombing attacks within Israel aimed at escalating the Israeli-Palestinian confrontation. Abu Mazen, Palestinian Authority chairman, condemned the attack and claimed it was timed to sabotage the upcoming Palestinian Legislative Council elections.
