News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (November 3 – 9, 2021)

Judea and Samaria: This past week there were several attempted terrorist attacks. The most serious was a shooting attack targeting an IDF post near Ramallah on November 5, 2021. The shooter escaped. The Gaza Strip: The IDF's aerial defense unit intercepted a UAV launched by Hamas which approached the Gaza maritime zone. The Palestinian Authority (PA): The commander of the IDF Central Command signed an order outlawing five of the six Palestinian NGOs designated by Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz as terrorist organizations. The coronavirus: The number of active coronavirus cases continues to decline in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip.

News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (October 27 – November 2, 2021)

Judea and Samaria: This past week Palestinians continued throwing rocks at Israeli vehicles driving on the road. The Gaza Strip: Relative quiet continues along the Israel-Gaza Strip border. The Palestinian Authority (PA): On November 1, 2021, Mahmoud Abbas began a formal visit to Italy where he will meet with the Italian president and prime minister, as well as with the Pope. The Israeli electric company informed the PA that in light of its mounting debt, which has reached almost $160 million, as of Wednesday, November 3, 2021, there will be four-hour power outages in several areas in the Jerusalem, Ramallah and Bethlehem districts. News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (October 20-26, 2021)

Judea and Samaria: During the past two weeks Palestinians frequently clashed with the Israeli security forces at the Damascus Gate in east Jerusalem. The Gaza Strip: Relative quiet continues. Israel announced that beginning on October 21, 2021, it would issue 3,000 additional permits for Gazan businessmen to enter Israeli territory. The Palestinian Authority (PA): After legally authorized joint activities of the Israeli security forces, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz signed an order designating as terrorist organizations six civilian social organizations affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). The Palestinian prisoners end hunger strike: On October 22, 2021, after nine days, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) prisoners in Israeli jails ended their hunger strike.

News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (October 13-19, 2021)

Judea and Samaria: This past week a Palestinian carried out a vehicular ramming attack in Qalandiya, wounding an Israeli Border Police fighter. The Gaza Strip: The Gaza Strip remains relatively quiet. Mohammed al-Emadi, chairman of Qatar's National Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, and his second in command arrived in the Gaza Strip and met with the Hamas leadership. The Palestinian Authority (PA): Mahmoud Abbas and Muhammad Shtayyeh have been urging the American administration to advance the Palestinian cause, including keeping promises made to the PA, among them the reopening of the American consulate in east Jerusalem and promoting "trust building" measures. The Palestinian terrorist prisoners: Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorist prisoners in Israeli jails began a hunger strike to protest the sanctions imposed on them after six prisoners escaped from Gilboa Prison.

Facebook Blocks Hamas News Website and Palestinians Rejoice at Social Media Outage

On October 12, 2021, Facebook announced that it had blocked the Hamas-affiliated Shehab News Agency Facebook page. It was the second time in recent months. It had blocked the page in July 2021 on the grounds that Shehab had repeatedly violated the rules of the Facebook community regarding hate speech and the promotion of violence.

Judea and Samaria: This past week Palestinians continued throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli vehicles, including buses, driving on the roads. The Gaza Strip: The Hamas talks in Egypt ended. Israeli work permits for Palestinians: Following rumors about the possibility of receiving work permits for Israel, thousands of Gazans went to the offices of the bureau of commerce in Gaza to ask for them. The Palestinian Authority (PA): Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi spoke with Mahmoud Abbas about developments in the Palestinian cause and the political process. The coronavirus: Active coronavirus cases continue declining in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip.
