Vehicular Attack in Armon Hanatziv in Jerusalem

On January 8, 2017, a Palestinian terrorist from Jabel Mukaber used a heavy truck to for a vehicular attack against a group of Israeli soldiers. It was carried out on the promenade in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Armon Hanatziv. He was shot and killed. Four Israeli soldiers were killed.

Information received from a Hamas operative who crossed the border to Israel indicates once again that Hamas uses Gaza Strip hospitals for military purposes

On November 27, 2016, Bilal al-Razayna, 24, resident of the Gaza Strip, was detained after crossing the security fence into Israeli territory. Al-Razayna, who belongs to the Izz al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military-terrorist wing, was involved in various military activities such as sniper training, digging tunnels, and securing facilities.

News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (December 28, 2016 – January 3, 2017)

This past week popular terrorism continued with an attempted stabbing attack at the Qalandia crossing, near Ramallah. The Israeli security forces exposed a terrorist squad of Israeli Arabs who planned to attack IDF soldiers in the Negev. The Palestinian Authority (PA) is planning use UN Security Council Resolution 2334 to initiate measures against Israel.

On December 23, 2016, a majority vote in the UN Security Council passed Resolution 2334 (in accordance with Chapter VI of the UN Charter). The resolution deals mainly with the Israeli settlements, over which there is a broad international consensus.
