Spotlight on Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (January 4-10, 2023)

This past week Palestinian terrorists carried out two shooting attacks in Samaria. No Israeli casualties were reported. Israeli police forces detained a Palestinian woman armed with a knife at the entrance to the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. Palestinians continued throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli vehicles driving on the roads in Judea and Samaria. The Israeli security forces continued counterterrorism activities. A Palestinian was killed in a clash with Israeli security forces . The Gaza Strip remained relatively quiet, despite an unsuccessful rocket launch from central Gaza. The Palestinian strongly condemned the measures Israel's political-security cabinet decided to take against the PA for its appeal to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) .

Spotlight on Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (December 28, 2022 – January 3, 2023)

This past week there were no terrorist attacks. Palestinians continued throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli vehicles driving on the roads in Judea and Samaria. The Israeli security forces continued counterterrorism activities, detaining dozens of wanted terrorists and confiscating weapons. Three Palestinians, all terrorist organization operatives, were killed in clashes with Israeli security forces. The Israeli national security minister entered the Temple Mount. The Palestinian threatened another intifada.

Spotlight on Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (December 21-27, 2022)

This past week Palestinian terrorists carried out four attacks: a combined attack in Kafr Qassem (an Israeli-Arab city); and three shooting attacks in Samaria. No Israeli casualties were reported. The security forces revealed information about the terrorist who carried out the double IED attack in Jerusalem on November 23, 2022. He acted alone and was influenced by ISIS ideology but did not belong to the organization. The Gaza Strip remained relatively quiet. The PA continues preparing itself for the new Israeli government.

This past week Palestinian terrorists carried out two shooting attacks. Palestinians continued throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli vehicles driving on the roads in Judea and Samaria. The Israeli security forces continued counterterrorism activities. The Palestinians terrorist organizations fomented unrest on the Temple Mount in preparation for Hanukkah, The Gaza Strip remained relatively calm. Hamas held a mass rally to mark the 35th anniversary of its founding. Yahya al-Sinwar said the only way to achieve their objectives was to escalate all forms of "resistance.

Spotlight on Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (December 7-13, 2022)

This past week a Palestinian carried out a shooting attack near Ofra (northeast of Ramallah). Palestinians continued throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli vehicles driving on the roads in Judea and Samaria. The Israeli security forces continued counterterrorism activities, detaining dozens of wanted terrorists and confiscating weapons. Five Palestinians were killed in clashes with Israeli security forces. The Lion's Den terrorist network held a display of armed force in Nablus.The Gaza Strip remained relatively calm. On December 11, 2022, the first national conference against apartheid was held in al-Bireh, organized by the PLO in collaboration with various NGOs, the Palestinian human rights organization, the BDS movement and the PA's ministry of justice.

Spotlight on Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (November 30 – December 6, 2022)

This past week Palestinians carried out two terrorist attacks An Israeli bus was attacked with gunfire and there was a stabbing attack in which two Border Police fighters were wounded. The Israeli security forces continued counterterrorism activities in Judea and Samaria, detaining dozens of wanted terrorists and confiscating weapons. Five Palestinians were killed in exchanges of fire with Israeli security forces. A rocket was fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip, falling in an open area in the western Negev. No casualties or damage were reported. Senior Palestinian Authority (PA) figures continued their campaign to delegitimize the Israeli government currently being formed.
