The Fatah movement in Jenin rented a house for the family of Ahmed Nasr Khaled Jarar, one of the terrorists who carried out the attack near Havat Gilad (Samaria) in which Rabbi Raziel Shevah was killed. The house was rented to temporarily replace the family's house destroyed by the Israeli security forces. Previously, senior Fatah and Palestinian Authority (PA) figures had visited the mourning tent erected by the family for another relative who had participated in the attack.

Video published of IED activated against IDF soldiers on the Gaza Strip security fence

On February is, 2018, an IDF force was operating near the border security fence in the southern Gaza Strip (east of Khan Yunis). About ten days after the attack a video was published documenting the Israeli soldiers approaching the fence a few moments before the IED exploded.

The leader of the Movement of the Noble Ones, an Iranian-operated Shi’ite militia in Iraq, said during a memorial ceremony for Imad Mughnieh that the militia would support Hezbollah if Israel attacked it.

On February 13, 2018, Sheikh Akram al-Kaabi, the secretary general of the Iraqi Shi'ite Movement of the Noble Ones, visited the grave of senior Hezbollah terrorist Imad Mughnieh in the southern suburb of Beirut on the anniversary of the deaths of three senior Hezbollah leaders. During the visit he told the local and other Arab media that his organization was committed to supporting Hezbollah in the event of any Israeli attack.

Recent Hamas-led campaign for mass popular marches to the Israeli border. The objective is to create Arab and international pressure to resolve the Gaza Strip’s international pressure to resolve the Gaza Strip’s economic hardship and to challenge Israel.

An idea has recently been examined in the Gaza Strip to organize mass "non-violent" protest marches to Israel's border, whose participants will attempt to break into Israeli territory. An idea was also proposed to set up a "return camp" near the border which will have a permanent presence of Palestinian marchers.

The initial public statement from Iran with regards to these extraordinary security developments in Israel’s northern front reflect an Iranian effort to play down its role in the events; display a united front between Iran, Syria and Hezbollah vis-à-vis Israel; present the downing of the Israeli jet as a success of the “Resistance Front” and as a change of the rules of the game regarding the continuation of Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty.
