The Gaza Strip as a regional exporter of terrorism:
In June 2010 the Moroccan security forces exposed a global jihad network planning to carry out terrorist attacks against Moroccan figures, including Jews. The network was headed by a Gazan, a former Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative influenced by Al-Qaeda.

The Israeli security forces have recently exposed a Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) squad in the Ramallah region which included two Israeli Arabs.
The squad was well prepared for an attack on an IDF roadblock north of Ramallah; it also drew up initial plans for assassinations of senior Israeli officials.

As part of the Gaza Strip military buildup, women are trained for combat and for suicide bombing attacks.
Hamas and the PIJ allowed media coverage of female combatants during the lull in the fighting. Such public messages are designed to deter Israel from entering the Gaza Strip in the future.

Since the lull arrangement first became effective (June 19, 2008), there has been a meaningful decrease in the volume of rocket fire and mortar shelling at Israeli population centers in the western Negev. Likewise, the IDF has halted its counterterrorist activities in the Gaza Strip.

An attempted mass-killing attack was prevented when a truck carrying explosives blew up near the Erez Crossing
During the early morning hours of May 22, a truck which reached the merchandise zone at the Erez Crossing in the northern Gaza Strip blew up. Damage was done to various structures but there were no casualties.
