Examples of anti-Semitism in the Arab and Muslim world

Jordan

With the beginning of the violent confrontation (September 2000), Jordan began intensifying its anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic comments. Previously such statements were limited, but they increased gradually with the deterioration of the normalization of the relations between the two countries.
Such anti-Semitic expressions come mainly from Palestinians and the Islamists, who are opposed to the Hashemite régime,, and who regard peace with Israel as “palace peace” and not “people's peace.”
Especially striking are the malicious cartoons published in Jordanian newspapers, their themes usually inspired by classic Christian-European anti-Semitism.

Books

Palestine and the Jews, the Crime of Zionism and the World

Authors : Yakub Kamil al-Dajani and Lina Yakub al-Dajani2
Publisher : Dar al-Fikr lil-Tiba'ah Wal-Nashr Wal-Tawzi'
Date of publication : 2001

2 The name Dajani implied that the author's (or authors') origins most probably lie in Jaffa.

bined with strongly worded message of anti-Semitism: The following are excerpts from Palestine and the Jews , which reflects fierce hostility toward Israel com

From the Introduction: “The Palestinian people do not forget… for how could the generation of our parents who still hold the keys to their houses in Jaffa, Haifa, Safed, Beersheba and Ramla forget? And how could our generation, which grew up on Mount Carmel and on the shores of the Sea of Galilee and in the orange groves between Jaffa and Ramla, forget?” (p. 5).

The claim of the Jews that they are linked to Palestine is null and void , for they never actually lived in Palestine, but came to it as conquerors from Egypt” (p. 39).

“Achille Laurent wrote a book in French [whose title is translated in English as] Historical Investigations into the Events in Syria in 1840, which was translated into Arabic by Dr. Yussuf Nasrallah. To summarize the events, in 1840 the Jewish community in Damascus murdered an Italian monk, Fra Thomas, who was their friend and neighbor… The motive for the murder was the Jews' desire to use his blood to bake Passover matzos, for the Talmud commands them ‘to mix Passover matzos with blood drawn from a non-Jew while he is still alive …'. Aided by local and international Zionism, all the murderers were released unpunished. There is also a book in Arabic [whose title is translated in English as] The Cry of the Innocent , which recounts the story of a Christian child named Henry ‘Abd al-Nur whom a group of Jews captured and from whom blood was drawn. Here too bribery was effective and the criminals were released” (pp. 88-89).
“Anyone who follows history will clearly understand that the Jews are not a nation , race or special group… They take it as their right to suck the blood of all the nations of the world to satisfy their ambitions [and assure themselves] wealth and survival . Judaism is neither a race nor a nation nor a religion but rather, in my opinion, a kind of abnormal behavior. It arises from the hatred planted in their minds which is passed along by heredity… the figure of the Jew and his behavior was clearly portrayed in Europe in the [famous] play by Shakespeare called The Merchant of Venice ” (p. 186).
