The most significant attack was a shooting attack from a car carried out by a Palestinian from Silwan in east Jerusalem. A policeman and a woman were killed, and five people were wounded. The terrorist was shot and killed. There were also two stabbing attacks, one at the Qalandia crossing (north Jerusalem) and the other at the Negohot junction in Mt. Hebron. On October 5, 2016, a rocket hit was identified in the southern Israeli city of Sderot, the fourth since the end of Operation Protective Edge.

The phenomenon of kinship among Palestinians carrying out popular terrorist attacks

After five months of a decrease in the scope of terrorist attacks and a year after the outbreak of the previous wave of Palestinian popular terrorism, another wave broke out. During eight days, between September 16 and 23, 2016, ten significant terrorist attacks were carried out. Eight of them were stabbing attacks. Six Israelis were wounded. Eight of the terrorists were killed.

The wave of population terrorism that reemerged last week continues, although with waning intensity. Prominent this past week was a stabbing attack at the entrance to Kiryat Arba. Mahmoud Abbas gave a speech before the UN General Assembly in which he strongly attacked Israel.

After some five months of relative calm, there was an outbreak of a new wave of popular terrorism. There were eight attacks within five days (September 16-20, 2016). Seven of them were stabbing attacks and one was a vehicular attack.

This past week Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip were relatively quiet. The Women's Boat to Gaza flotilla, composed of anti-Israeli women from various countries, some of them "famous," is about to set sail. According to statements issued by the women organizing the flotilla, the boats are now anchored in Barcelona and are expected to set sail on September 14, 2016.

Palestinian popular terrorism continues. This past week stabbing attacks were prevented (in the Old City of Jerusalem and Hebron. This past week there was a series of shooting attacks (carried out by Gazans using light arms and one using a sniper rifle). They targeted IDF forces engaged in routine security activities near the border security fence in the northern Gaza Strip.
