A Salafi jihadist network and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) issued separate claims of responsibility for the attack. Israel and Hamas both made it clear that they did not want the hostilities to escalate.

This past week prominent terrorist events were a stabbing attack in the A-Tor neighborhood of east Jerusalem and two attempted stabbing attacks, one at a roadblock near the community of Shaked (northern Samaria) and the other at a roadblock in Hebron. The Israeli security forces recently exposed a number of terrorist squads in Judea and Samaria recruited by Hamas operatives from Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

This past week Palestinians continued throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at Israeli security forces and Israeli vehicles on the roads in Judea and Samaria. They also shot at an Israeli vehicle near Pisgat Ze'ev in north Jerusalem. The Israeli security forces recently detained two Palestinians working for international aid organizations in the Gaza Strip who had transferred funds to Hamas and its military-terrorist wing.

This past week the throwing of stones and Molotov cocktails and shootings at passing Israeli cars continued. However, no serious terrorist attacks were carried out. This year as well Hamas and the other terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip are exploiting the summer vacation to give children and adolescents military training.

his past week terrorist event focused on the stabbing attack in Gush Etzion and an attack prevented in Jerusalem. The Palestinian media reported that Facebook had removed pages affiliated with Hamas in Judea and Samaria. A Hamas spokesman said it was not the first time Facebook had removed Hamas pages.
