On the evening of February 4, 2007, an attempt was made to abduct an Israeli civilian at the ‘Eli junction, north of Ramallah. The civilian, who was waiting at a bus stop, was suspicious of the three Palestinians who drove up and refused to enter their vehicle. The three then fled and the civilian alerted the Israeli security forces. The IDF deployed to search the area and near Bir Zeit (north of Ramallah) stopped the vehicle. Weapons were found in the car.
