With President Bush’s visit approaching, there has been a rise in the quantity of rocket fire into Israel. In one instance a standard 122 mm rocket fell in northern Ashqelon. Two rockets were fired from Lebanon at Shlomi in the Western Galilee, the second time since the end of the second Lebanon war.
The Israeli security forces continued their counterterrorist ac tivities in the Gaza Strip, Judea and Samaria. A broad operation was carried out in Nablus during which wanted terrorist operatives were detained and a laboratory was uncovered in the Old City (Kasbah).
