According to Turkish and Western media reports, the US and Turkey are planning to establish an “ISIS-free” buffer zone north of Aleppo, near the Turkish-Syrian border. ISIS has called for a general mobilization of operatives to travel to Libya and carry out jihad in order to “defend Islam” in Libya.

According to reports this week, the city Al-Hasakah in northeastern Syria has been liberated from ISIS by the Kurdish forces, with US and coalition air support. The Al-Nusra Front announced that its operatives had captured a number of operatives who had been trained in Jordan by the United States and subsequently entered Syria. There were no significant changes in the other combat zones in Iraq, Syria, Libya and Egypt.

This week, the Kurdish forces managed to capture the city of Tal Abyad, northern Syria (near the Turkish border). The Druze population living in the area of Al-Suwayda, southern Syria, is under twofold pressure by jihadi organizations. The Druze population in the northern Syrian Golan Heights (in the region of the village of Khader) fear that they will be taken over by the rebels, led by the Al-Nusra.
