A wide variety of anti-Israeli organizations, networks and trade unions in the West participate in propaganda "consciousness raising" events whose objective is to defame and isolate Israel. The anti-Israeli organizations belonging to networks in the West usually have only marginal political power. The anti-Israeli organizations are often NGOs, anarchist groups, groups of immigrants, extremist political activists and sometimes even Jews and former Israelis. The anti-Israeli organizations wage a political, economic, cultural and ideological campaign against the State of Israel in collaboration with radical Islamic organizations. The anti-Israeli organizations are sometimes joined by networks and activists who are critical of Israel but do not deny its right to exist and are not part of the campaign to delegitimize it.
Most of the anti-Israeli organizations in the West are networks and have no central headquarters or command directing their activities. Usually the anti-Israeli organizations unite ad hoc for a specific purpose such as a flotilla, demonstration or protest march.
In practical terms, the anti-Israeli organizations organize convoys and flotillas to the Gaza Strip, call for the boycott of Israeli products, support and finance attempts to bring important Israeli figures to trial, exhibit a massive presence in universities and try to influence Western leaders in making government policy regarding Israel, etc.
